Why do poultry have a fever?

Poultry fever is mostly caused by cold or inflammation like human fever, which is a common symptom in the process of breeding.

Generally, the peak period of poultry fever is in winter. Because of the cold weather and large temperature difference in winter, it is prone to some influenza diseases, resulting in fever. If not treated in time, it may affect the growth rate of poultry, reduce the body’s immunity, and cause more diseases.

There are many diseases that cause fever symptoms in poultry. In addition to the common influenza, some bacterial diseases or parasitic diseases can also cause fever in poultry. The fundamental measure to treat this symptom is to cure the disease that causes this symptom.

What are the symptoms of poultry fever?

There are four basic characteristics of poultry after onset: red, heat, swelling and pain. This is the basic symptom of inflammatory reaction, more specifically.

1. The whole body is weak, unwilling to walk, isolated and hiding in the corner.

2. Drowsiness, necking and wilting, not awakened by external interference.

4. Afraid of cold, will tremble slightly.

In terms of fever, poultry fever can be divided into two types: low fever and high fever

Low fever in poultry: poultry with low fever are more sensitive to temperature. When the temperature in the poultry house is high, the spirit of poultry is better. After the temperature is low, the diseased poultry will show depression and wilting. This kind of general chronic consumptive disease is in the majority, such as adenomyogastritis.

This fever is the performance of the poultry autoimmune system to eliminate the source of infection. For low fever, we do not need to deliberately add antipyretic drugs in the treatment process, control the inflammatory reaction, and the poultry fever will disappear.

High fever in poultry: high fever in poultry will lead to the reduction of enzyme activity in the body and the decline of digestive function. The diseased poultry will wilt and the feed intake of poultry will decrease.
